Being a 2nd or 3rd generation kid (or whatever we're called) is sometimes really not fun.
I am Japanese-American and Russian - and this summer I am going to Tokyo to visit my Japanese part of the family. But I really hate going there. Its fun to see everyone, and to experience Tokyo - which is, let's face it, amazing - but I really feel like I don't fit in with my family. I don't get the culture properly, or their jokes ...
My Russian family is fun though haha - very laid back and relaxed and fun and hilarious. I really wanted to go see them this summer - go to our house in Moscow, and to St. Petersburg to our beach villa, and then go over to Georgia on the yacht ...
Anyways, an annoying summer isn't the point. The point is that I don't feel 100% "at home" here in the States either. I mean, to me it is home ... but I'm like "I am not one of you". People here are just so 100% American, so stuck in their ideas.
First chance I get I'm getting away from Texas and moving to New York, or St. Petersburg, or South America.
ok, rant over.
